2021 OPEN INVITATION : PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR THE INDUSTRY

The bar industry and all those within it are one global family - and celebrating this together has been on ice for too long! So this is an open invitation to all of you - with no strings attached - please, if you can, join us in London this October during our extended, London Cocktail Week Month 2021.

HOW TO ORGANISE A GUEST SHIFT

 

1. GUEST SHIFTS AT THE COVENT GARDEN HUB 

This year, whilst there is no big ‘Cocktail Village’ happening, we are creating a bit of a hub in the glittering West End with a partnership and (fairly sizable) pop-up space in Covent Garden. The London Cocktail Week Main Bar on the ground floor of this space is going to be a platform for bars who want to come and showcase their talents for a few hours. 

 

There’ll be an event staff support team in place and so what we’re offering is a few hours airtime to a different bar each evening, with one signature drink on the menu for the few hours that you’re on - and this will then become the Signature Cocktail of the London Cocktail Week Main Bar for those hours! 

 

Just to note - this opportunity is made possible by the wonderful folks at London Essence, Moët Hennessy and Martin Miller’s. So within this space specifically, your Signature Cocktail needs to be made using those products. You can change the music, bring some POS (coasters, physical menus etc) - anything to make this pop-up space feel like your own for a few hours and we’ll promote it on the official London Cocktail Week Event Timetable. NO CHARGE!

 

2. GUEST SHIFTS ANYWHERE ELSE

We would absolutely love to welcome your guest shift into the London Cocktail Week programme. It’s totally up to you where you run it - it can be any one of the amazing bars taking part in the festival (you can see these HERE) or it can be somewhere random. But wherever you’re doing it, we’ll put it on our schedule.
 

We understand you’ll probably be getting a brand to pay for you to travel - and ideally we ask you to work with one of the brands supporting the festival, because without them we wouldn’t be able to continue, but there’s so many brands supporting us hopefully that’s easy. If you’re tied to a brand who isn’t an official part of the festival - that’s fine, we’ll still list the guest shift, we just won’t be able to give them a brand call in our comms and they can’t use our brand name in theirs. You can though and whats more - there's NO CHARGE!

LOGISTICAL INFORMATION

 

FREE WRISTBANDS FOR THE FESTIVAL

As always, we're offering free London Cocktail Week wristbands to anyone working in hospitality. That means you can explore London's best bars and try the £7 Signature Cocktails they've created especially for the festival, the best way to get around lots of venues! You just need to register HERE for a code, use that on our ticketing platform and then pick your wristband up from any of the bars taking part.

 

TRAVELLING FROM OVERSEAS 

Currently there is no quarantine for people coming from most countries in the the EU and the US as long as you are double vaccinated. This is huge for us and is probably the best news we could have for the festival! Official information from the government is HERE

If you need help understanding any of these rules, we’ll do our best to help you. It’s about as clear as mud but we’ll try.

Having just travelled overseas (as we’re sure many of you have now too) - it’s actually not all that difficult once you get organised. There is a bit of testing that needs to be done which obviously has a cost implication - so please do take this into account when you’re chatting to your brand reps about supporting you to get over here. 

Also - please make sure what the rules are for your own country about getting back in once you've been in the UK!
